What it Meant for Jerod Hagen to Achieve the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute Designation
When Jerod Hagen became involved in the real estate business, he set about achieving several distinctions designed to help him better serve his clients and potential clients. One of Mr. Hagen’s goals was to earn the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) Designation administered by the National Association of REALTORS®.
What did it mean for Jerod Hagen to earn this designation, and how did he go about it?
To begin with, a GRI Designation means that the real estate professional has undergone extensive training in every aspect of the business. That includes in-depth study of legal and regulatory issues, as well as the ever-changing technology used in the industry. It also means that a REALTOR has become educated about the industry’s professional standards and acceptable sales processes.
In order to earn the designation, Jerod Hagen was required to be a member in good standing of the National Association of REALTORS® and to complete a minimum of 90 hours of coursework. The curriculum included courses on issues unique to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, as well as on national issues that could affect his potential clients in Lexington, Louisville, and elsewhere in North Central Kentucky. These topics and issues included:
- Business development
- Sales and marketing
- Environmental issues
- Customer and client services
- Fair housing
- Brokerage relationships
- Contracts
- Communications
- Arbitration and mediation
- And more
In addition to the GRI designation, Jerod Hagen is a Certified Residential Specialist and an Accredited Buyer’s Representative. Each of these distinctions required additional coursework. Combined, Mr. Hagen’s professional distinctions demonstrate his commitment to providing the best possible service to his clients in Lexington and beyond.
